NAME: Nyx

In Character
Name: Emma Frost
Fandom: Marvel Comics
History or Personality:
Emma is coleader of the mutant island Utopia. She's trying very hard to overcome her evil past, so that she can help lead the children she teaches to make smart choices that benefit them all. She is determined, and while she may be harsh, she does truly care about the fate of the mutant children. She loves her boyfriend, even though she sometimes keeps secrets. He is a mental and physical match for her, and he challenges her in ways that are exciting.

Emma is also a snarky, elitist, racist bitch. She has a rightfully earned reputation as a cold, cruel dominatrix and villain. Subjugation of others, either in the boardroom, the bedroom, or the battlefield, is exciting to her, and she lives to cut others down. While she is atoning for the sins of her past, she is maintaining her ruthlessness, because it is a weapon she can use against others to keep her people safe.

Any special abilities:
Emma is a telepath of incredible skill, though not extraordinary power. She can beat more powerful opponents with craft, but in a fair fight, she'll lose to mutants like Jean Grey and Charles Xavier

Emma also has the ability to turn into a diamond form, where she doesn't need to eat, sleep, or breathe. It has a flaw, which is her only point of vulnerability. She's also super strong and immune to telepathy (and unable to use her own telepathy), in this form.

Character name: Emma Grace Frost
Fandom: Marvel Comics
Age: 35
Description: Emma is a short, curvy blonde. In public, she dresses in a somewhat scandalous manner, occasionally wearing pants to parties where she wants to get noticed. Her warddrobe is mostly pale neutrals, so soft greys, cream, ivory, white, etc. She will wear flashes of brilliant colors here and there (a brown belt with pants, or red embellishments on a dress), but they will be used sparingly, and only for effect.

In the classroom, she dresses properly, her collars high around her neck, giving her a thoroughly sever appearance.

In her private room at the Hellfire Club, Emma wears whatever pleases her, or matches the tastes of her companion for the evening.

And finally, in private, Emma tends to wear pants and men's shirts, since some of the things she experiments with could ruin her costly gowns.

Any Special Abilities: Through her telepathy, Emma steals other peoples' ideas.

Place of Birth: Boston, Massachusetts

PB: Melissa George

Skills: Teaching, extrapolating on ideas, manipulation, crossword puzzles, and lying
Interests: Influencing people, and gaining power

300 words about this character:
Emma was born to wealthy socialites in Boston. She was the middle child, and often felt as though her father, a cold, distant man, hated her more than any of her other sisters. She wanted to become a teacher, but her time with her father made her realize too well the pleasures of power. She left Massachusetts as soon as she could get on an airship with falsified papers.

She went to New York, which seemed like the thing to do. She was young, and didn't realize until far too late that she had over-estimated her ability to protect herself. Her first night she was attacked, and that was the turning point in her life.

Rather than succumb and die, as she should have, Emma found herself able to predict what her attackers would do, and with this knowledge, she defeated them. The fight was the first thing she had truly ever had to do, and it was breathtakingly terrifying, even as it was exhilarating.

Not knowing the trigger for her powers, Emma sought out trouble. She loved the feeling she got when she defeated another would-be assailant. In time, she came to understand how her telepathy worked. She went from beating up beggars for the day's take to a prestigious position in a powerful gentlemen's club. To her amusement, she quickly came to understand that she had not given up a life of beating men for a living.

The real joy, though, was in her conversations with important men. Tony Stark was a frequent visitor to the club, and she found herself coming to understand more and more what he meant when he spoke of his desire to make an iron man.

With this new ability, Emma was quick to purchase an apartment close to home of another premier inventor, Reed Richards. In time she started the Frost Academy for the Gifted. She taught engineering and science to bored rich boys, stealing their innovations to create herself and market. Frost Enterprises became known for its high-quality airship engines, and it experiments with robotics.

I'm glad to have found a proper outlet for my frustrations with this place. It's certainly kept me busy, which is a blessing.

I do wonder if there's a good repairman in the city. I have a bookshelf that needs reinforcement.

I'm surprised that there are so many fine dining establishments here. Their quality may not be up to par with San Francisco or New York, but they certainly do in a pinch.

now, if only I had someone to dine with

The shopping is, sadly, about what I expected.

Character Information
Name: Emma Grace Frost
Age: 25 (38)
Fandom: Marvel
Class Taught: Political Science and Advanced Psychology
Housing: One Bedroom
Point In Fandom Taken From: Post Manifest Destiny, Prior to the founding of Utopia
Brief History:

Emma was born to affluent assholes, the middle of three daughters, all younger than her older brother. From the moment she could speak, she was taught by her family that words were strength. She became an accomplished liar, but never as good as either of her sisters. She learned not to trust people, and that the people you love will always fail you. Her brother, the only person who cared for her in the house, was useless, too caught up in his own life to be of much help to Emma when her father told her that a 95% on a test wasn’t good enough.

To Emma, that was just how the world was, and she found no evidence to the contrary at any of the private schools she was sent to. It became worse when Adrienne’s mutation manifested, giving her the ability know what had happened to an object. It seemed silly at first, but Emma soon found that a great deal of her influence with her father (for she had garnered some, throughout the years), was slipping. Knowing that this just would not do, Emma searched for anything that would get her another step closer to her father’s approval.

Her chance came in the strangest manner, when she discovered her father was having an affair. Seeing an opportunity, Emma struck, and she used that piece of blackmail as a jumping point for more and more dirt on her father.

It only got easier when her own powers manifested. By that time Emma had such tight emotional control that her power was easily suppressed, and used only when it might help. It gave her the lead for a time.

It was around this time that she went to high school, and encountered the first male teacher she had ever had. He was a young man, fresh from college. He taught Biology, and Emma was thoroughly enamored with him. She saw some of the things that she liked about Christian in this teacher, and a lot of new things that she found quite exciting. It was then that she realized how much power teachers really had, and that a good teacher would shape the minds of thousands of students over the years.

That became her goal. Her father didn’t approve of it at all. He didn’t consider it to be a worthy occupation, and even went so far as to have that teacher fired.

That started a chain of events that would cement her belief that her family should all die in a fire. By the end, Emma was offered her father’s fortune when he died, but she refused and ran away, because of all the things they were doing that disgusted on a deep level.

At first she didn’t fare well on her own, but things actually got better for her when she was taken hostage by a gang, in order to blackmail her father. At first he refused to pay, but when the media got ahold of the tape, he had no choice. Emma turned the gang members against each other to save her life, and took off with the money to go to college.

College was a similar nightmare. She was found by a telepath in her dorm building, and though Emma learned a lot from her, it became clear eventually that the girl would do anything to support her own ends. Emma also ran into her old teacher from high school, and immediately began to seduce him away from his girlfriend. It wasn’t until he attacked said girlfriend that Emma realized he’d been manipulated by the other telepath, who didn’t want Emma to hang out with other people. Emma fought the girl on the Astral Plane, leaving her in a coma. When she told the teacher what had happened, her replied in revulsion, and left her.

That was the last straw for Emma. She became more aggressive, forcing her way through college and into high society. She began her corporation with information she gleaned at society parties, and hoped to someday use the money to open a school.

She eventually joined the Hellfire Club, and worked her way up to White Queen, relishing the excesses, and her position as ‘the dominatrix from Hell’. Around this time she got plastic surgery for the first time, to enhance the image of herself as a powerful dom.

She didn’t know defeat until she attempted to recruit Kitty Pride to her school, and was put into a coma by Jean Grey. This sparked an enmity between the Hellfire Club and the X-men that would result in Emma accidentally taking over Storm’s body when she had healed again and Jean being used, unsuccessfully, by Mastermind.

She spent a lot of time trying to gather mutants for her school, though not for the purpose of teaching them. She wanted to used the kids as pawns in her fight against Xavier. She did manage to help some of them, like when the New Mutants died and were resurrected, but horribly depressed. Others, like Firestar, she completely fucked over in a very atrocious manner, to make her an easy assassin.

Thing proceeded in an honestly ridiculous manner up until the Hellions were slaughtered by Fitzroy, and Emma was put into her third coma. Her body was taken in by Xavier, who hoped to help her, realizing that when she awoke she would be devastated, and might be turned to their side, with the right combination of forces.

When she awoke, Emma lashed out with her telepathy out of instinct, and took over the body of Bobby Drake, using his powers in ways he’d never even dreamed of doing. Emma, thinking she was a prisoner, fled, and went to the main office of her building, where she learned the fate of the Hellions. It was too much for her, and she waited, despondent, for the X-men to arrive and take her back. It started to dawn on her then that she might have been wrong in the way she trained her team, and that perhaps Xavier was better, at least at that. She let herself be taken in, and put in her own body again.

Eventually, Emma and Sean Cassidy were put in charge of a school that was affiliated with Xavier’s. The two clashed frequently, and Emma disliked some of the students, as well. But she went to extreme lengths to keep her students safe, often at the risk of their freedom.

Emma’s company fell on hard times, and she was unable to continue operating the school. Instead of telepathically gleaning secrets, which Sean had asked her not to do, Emma asked Adrienne for help. Adrienne agreed, but asked to be made headmistress in return.

This turned out to be a bad move all around, and resulted in Adrienne blowing up the school and killing Synch, as well as outing the school as a mutant training center. Emma was so furious at the betrayal that she shot Adrienne, and in turn inherited the woman’s fortune, which solved the problem of funding.

This didn’t sit well with her students, and they disbanded. Xavier sent Emma to Genosha to teach, which, like everything else, went well for a while, then exploded. It was a result of the explosion of Genosha that Emma was able to access a secondary mutation, in the form of diamond hard skin.

She joined the X-men, for lack of a better plan, and began trying to seduce Scott, while teaching the hordes of new students. The seducing went better than the teaching, for a while. Jean was furious with both Emma and Scott (but mostly Emma). Enraged, Phoenix ripped through Emma’s psyche, tearing down all of her self-delusions, looking for the truth of what had happened. Which, ironically, was nothing at all, at Scott’s insistence.

Emma confessed her love to Wolverine, and got shot by a student with a diamond bullet while in diamond form. It left her shattered, but not technically dead. Beast worked to rebuild her, and several X-men tried to figure out what had happened. It was found that Esme, one of the girls who had been involved in Jean’s discovery of Emma’s intentions for Scott, had used their telepathy to make one of Emma’s prized students shoot her. Jean realized Emma was still alive, and used her powers to fix Emma’s body.

The mansion blew up and Esme and Jean both died in different ways. Emma and Scott kissed on Jean’s grave, and Scott said he wanted to take time for himself, leaving the school to be run by Henry and Emma. Emma tried to reason with him, and would have failed, if Jean hadn’t, from beyond the grave, nudged him toward that path.

The school was revised, with a public X-men team, and six squads of students, each under the care of a particular senior X-man, with Scott and Emma as co-headmasters. Their open pursuit of a relationship didn’t sit well with some, like Wolverine, but neither let it stop them.

There have been battles with aliens, the mutant cure, the Danger Room, and Cassandra Nova using Emma as a pawn to fuck with Scott. The Civil War has made the diminished mutant population (a side effect of Wanda’s freak out and the House of M), a target.

The Secret Invasion didn't change much for Emma personally, but when Norman Osbourne took power that meant changes for everyone. Emma joined his cabal without informing Scott, though she did so to use the position to make Namor promise to protect the remaining mutants, which she did by capturing and 'killing' Sebastian Shaw. Later, she sentenced Shaw to a lifetime of remembering nothing but the faces of the mutants who had been killed in Genosha

After the X-men moved to San Francisco, Emma and Scott were pressured by Henry to share their secrets with each other, because he was afraid they would lead to a break down in the command structure.

Emma would never be so obvious as to fidget with her coffee cup during a meeting. She was tired and not really paying attention to the presentation Warren was giving about the benefits of their alliance with the San Francisco mayor. As if such an alliance and its benefits had to be spelled out to her, of all people. She fought to stifle a yawn, knowing she wasn't the only one who had to do so.

Warren was a good person, but this meeting was far too early in the morning, and far too boring.

She noticed Scott (who would never be obvious about any kind of emotion what so ever if he could help it), perking up a bit. Warren changed slides, and a pair of rather attractive cars showed up on screen. Emma snorted, recognizing the brand, and who owned it. "Really, darling, you're going to have us doing product placement for you? Why no just replace the 'X' on our uniform with Worthington Industries' logo?"

There were a few chuckles, and attention became more focused. Though Warren feigned annoyance, Emma was certain he'd noticed the light snores coming from Bobby and Henry's incessant notes which were no doubt not about the political structure of California at all.

It's hard to remember what life was like before I met Scott. Not what I did, because that is storied and dragged in front of my face often. I can't remember how I felt. How I thought. I often wonder if I thought about everything differently. Did bagels taste the same? Did I enjoy coffee as much before?

It feels like I have little appetite, as though the world has lost some of its color. I know that the world- strike that. I'm fairly sure that the world hasn't changed. So this is probably my fault.

I wonder if I deserved this. That's egotistical. I know the world does not revolve around me, and that Scott's disappearance, then Summer's brief time here, are not to punish me.

But I have done so much evil. I don't even know if I'm capable of doing good by myself. I don't know if I'm doing the right thing anymore.

So, Emma needs a point in time to come from. Anyone want to plot with her?
